If so, 12 Steps to a Better Memory can help you. People can find fast and easy-to-learn techniques to improve their memory in this book.
Through step-to-step discussion, Turkington points out 12 techniques for improving memory for names, lists, speeches, faces, addresses, numbers and also foreign languages. First of all, Turkington wants readers to know more about what memory is, and how memory works. Then, she mentions some methods which help people organize the way to memorize a thing effectively. After that, she uses the memory techniques to improve our studies. By learning techniques like Loci Method and Peg System, we can have a short-cut to learn foreign languages and remember details effectively. Lastly, Carol points out how to improve our memory through our lifestyles, like how stress, diet and medication affect our memories.
This book is easy for readers because it is written in colloquial American English. Examples found in the book are easily understood since they are all from our daily lives. Sub-headings before paragraphs tell readers what things are talking about in separate parts. There are some pictures in this book to help readers understand the concepts easily.
If you follow her instructions, I am sure that you can amaze your friends thanks to your improved memory. It does not matter if you cannot learn all of these techniques. But do learn some! I find some of the techniques useful in dealing with my memory problems like forgetting names and test materials! I can also find remembering speeches with ease after using the simple steps in 12 Steps to a Better Memory.
