APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1.      The application period for admission to all programmes in the 2000-01 academic year will be from 1 June to 15 September 2000.

2.      Application forms can be obtained from the following places:

-         Caritas Francis Hsu College

-         Caritas Adult and Higher Education Institutes

Application forms can also be obtained by sending a stamped and self-addressed envelope (HK$ 7.20, 22cm x 30cm) to Caritas Francis Hsu College, 11 Caine Road, Hong Kong.

3.      Application, by mail or in person, should be submitted to Caritas Francis Hsu College, together with the following attachments:

a.       a completed application form

b.      a photocopy of the Hong Kong ID Card

c.       photocopies of relevant academic credentials

d.      a recent photo

e.       application fee of HK$60 in cash (in case of application by mail, by a crossed cheque, made payable to “Caritas - Hong Kong (ES)”)

4.      The College will not accept any incomplete applications.

5.      The application fee is not refundable.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Year 1 Entry

 

For admission to Year1 of the Higher Diploma programmes, applicants must satisfy one of the following admission requirement:

1.      a. have passed in one sitting HKCEE with grad E or above in at least 5 subjects, including Chinese language, English Language (Syllabus B) and Mathematics; OR

b. have obtained an equivalent qualification; OR

2.      have successfully completed Secondary 5.  These applicants must attend the intensive courses* offered by the College for formal admission, which include Chinese for Post Secondary Studies, English for Post Secondary Studies and Mathematics for Post Secondary Studies; OR

3.      be “mature applicants’ of at least 21years of age on 1 September 2000, possess demonstrated ability and extensive experience in relevant professional fields.

 

*These intensive courses are offered either in the summer, or alternatively, on weekday evenings or weekends during the first semester of each academic year.

 

 

 

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Year 2 Entry

 

For admission to Year 2 of the Higher Diploma programmes, applicants must satisfy one of the following admission requirements:

a.       have passed in one sitting HKALE or GCEAL with grade E or above in at least two subjects; OR

b.      have obtained in one sitting grade E or above in one subject at HKALE and one subject at HKASL; OR

c.       have obtained in one sitting grade E or above in one subject at GCEAL and one subject at GCEASL; OR

d.      have at least three LCCI Third Level passes in one sittings, OR

e.       hold a two-year post Secondary 5 diploma/certificate or equivalent which is recognized by the College; OR

f.        have successfully completed Secondary 7 and have passed the College Entrance Test; OR

g.       have acquired an equivalent qualification.

 

 

 

TRANSFER STUDENTS An applicant who has completed at least one year of study at a local or overseas College or University which is recognized by the College may apply as a transfer student for admission to the College.  Upon successful admission, the student may apply for the transfer of credits for equivalent courses at the College upon submission of full details of their previous academic record.  Under normal circumstances, students will be allowed to get transfer credits which amount to no more than half of the total credits required for graduation.
