A gerund is used like a NOUN
in a sentence.
It is formed by
adding 'ing'
to the infinitive.
Examples :

* Note some interesting changes for the infinitive when you form the following gerunds:-
Leave out the single 'e':
dance | dancing |
smoke | smoking |
make | making |
take | taking |
add an extra consonant after a single vowel:

win | winning |
sit | sitting |
change 'ie' into 'y':
lie | lying |
die | dying |
