A gerund is used like a NOUN
in a sentence.
It is formed by
adding 'ing'
to the infinitive.
Examples :

* Note some interesting changes for the infinitive when you form the following gerunds:-
Leave out the single 'e':
| dance | dancing |
| smoke | smoking |
| make | making |
| take | taking |
add an extra consonant after a single vowel:
| run | running |
| swim | swimming |
| win | winning |
| sit | sitting |
change 'ie' into 'y':
| lie | lying |
| die | dying |
