You can link TWO words to form gerunds when talking about things and places at home, e.g. a dining- table , a living room.

Alice has come to visit John. She is curious about his house. Use suitable gerunds to complete their dialogue.


Alice :

Besides the two bedrooms, what other rooms do you have in your house?
John : Four more. I have a living room, a e.g. for meals, a (1) / living-room for rest and a bath-room.
Alice : Well, it must be a big house.
John : Yes. Luckily, my mother is a perfect housewife. She sometimes teaches me how to cook fried rice. She says, " Remember to add more (2) oil onto the (3) . " She's right. I often help her wash clothes with the (4) - machine as well. She reminds me not to put too much (5) .
Alice : John, you're a good boy.
