1. Prepositions
Prepositions of Time : at, on, in, for and since
We use at to designate specific times.
We use on to designate days and dates.
We use in for nonspecific times during a day, a month, a season, or a year.
We use for when we measure time (seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years).
We use since with a specific date or time.
Prepositions of Place : at, on, and in
We use at for specific addresses.
We use on to designate names of streets, avenues, etc.
And we use in for the names of land-areas (towns, counties, states, countries, and continents).
Prepositions of Location : in, at, and on and No Preposition

* You may sometimes use different prepositions for these locations.
Prepositions of Movement : to and No Preposition
We use to in order to express movement towards a place.
With the words home, downtown, uptown, inside, outside, downstairs, upstairs, we use no preposition.

(a) You need the approval of the Council to change the policy.

Examples :
(a) Johnny is afraid of dogs.
(b) No one is capable of working more than 15 hours a day.
(c) I am aware of the difficulties you face in your work.
(d) She is angry at the person who has stolen her new bike.
(e) Peter is quite familiar with Kowloon Tong. He goes there everyday.

Examples :
(a) I apologize for stepping on your foot.
(b) Mrs Collins asked about his health.
(c) That file belongs to me.
(d) I won't tell you; you must find out for yourself.
