The Hong Kong Museum of History was established in 1975, but some of its collections date back to the City Museum and Art Gallery founded in 1962 at the City Hall. In 1998, it moved to its present premises in Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui. The Museum of History and the neighboring Science Museum together form a museum complex with a harmonious appearance and colour scheme.
