As any old salt will tell you, if you don't know what harbour you're heading for, no breeze will be the right breeze.

Same with the future, if you have no destination in mind, you won't know the right breezes when they come along.

Plan, relax, and go with the breeze.

Assume

 

If you assume that there is hope for your future, you guarantee there will be hope for you future.

If only all things in life were as uncomplicated as that.

人家說,一個人會產生無助感覺最主要的原因在於,人處於孤獨寂寞中,內心會昇起孤立感。

 

要克服這種情緒,就得先認清一個事實,你其實並不孤單,這世上有無數的人會因著有你作伴而心感激。

You Are Not Alone

 

One of the  main causes of hopelessness, we are told, is the feeling of isolation that stems from loneliness.

 

To overcome this feeling, recognise that you are not alone - there are countless people about who would be grateful for your company. 

 

Be open to their arrival, and soon they will appear.

你是否注意到,那些今日看來令人煩惱不已的大事,結果卻成了明天想起來最有趣的一樁軼事?

Look Forward To An Interesting Anecdote

 

How often have you noticed that today's biggest worry turns out to be tomorrow's most interesting anecdote?

Generally, the problems of the day become less threatening with the passage of time.  If you imagine yourself at some time in the future, looking back on your worries of today, you will discover they are lessened substantially.

Stockpile Beautiful Moments

White them down, keep a photo, keep a record in your computer.  Then recall these moment often, reflecting on them, taking pleasure in them, integrating them into your day-to-day routine and outlook.

One of the drawbacks of spending  too much time with downcast eyes is you tend to miss one of life's most optimistic symbols.  The rainbow.

Usually this one image makes up for having to stand in the rain.

Leave Down

It is more relaxing to come down a country road than a suburban street.  It is more comforting to gaze on rolling hills than on rolling stock.

 

It is more relaxing to sail in the wide open sea than it is on a busy harbour.

 

住前走

 

人生中有許多事是你根本無能為力的,而這些事情大部份都已經發生過了。

即使這些往事造成的心靈創痕仍歷歷在目,但過去的已然過去;如果你執意沉溺於從前,剩下的也只有記憶。

你若專注於現在和未來的生活,那些記憶也會漸漸褪色黯然無光。

Go Forward

There are many things in life that you simply cannot do anything about.  Foremost among these are things that have already happen.

Even if you still bear the scares from it, the past no longer exists - except as a memory if you choose the recall it. And even that memory fades if you concentrate on now, and what lies ahead.
