Subliminal Advertising
One writer comments: "people develop tastes for what
they are used to seeing and experiencing. If you are used
to seeing [a topic]...., your interest in [it].. is likely
to increase...your taste for that topic is likely to be strengthened...." |
Advertisements are repeated over and over again throughout the bus
ride. The same ads will also be repeated the next day.
Gradually, those ads will be ingrained onto riders' mind and their
subconscious, creating an effect of brain washing.
There
is also no safeguard against advertisers and broadcasters from sending
passengers subliminal messages, thereby influencing passengers's
behavior to the advantage of those companies and causing harm to
the passengers.
By repeating the same advertisement over and over again, bus operators'
action, if not considered a form of brainwashing, is definitely
an attempt to shape preference of the riders and to influence their
future behavior.
Indoctrination
Here
advertisers, or anybody who has the money or those with sinister
motives will have a convenient channel to indoctrinate the passengers,
in particular our vulnerable children to the advantage of those
broadcasters.
