Cheung insists that Kee and Hong should have a wedding ceremony before heading back to the states. But on the night of the wedding reception, both Kee and Cheung were killed by rival gang members leaving nobody to head the ring. Hong suddenly finds herself becoming Kee's widow named to become the new leader of the ring. She attempts to leave the country but seeing Cheung So's(Lee Li Li) plight having to deal with the unrest in the ring and attempts to oust her, decides to stay on and help her instead.

Shun has always held a grudge against Cheung. He believes that Cheung was the mastermind behind a robbery heist that killed his pregnant wife. On the day of the wake, Shun and his squad raids the scene creating havoc and gets into a direct confrontation with Hong. Apparently, Shun had not been given orders to raid the wake and as a result was reprimanded and demoted to traffic police. It was then that he realizes that the real mastermind behind the robbery attempt that killed his wife was Sei(Kwok Jing Hung), Cheung's arch rival.

With Cheung dead, Sei tries to take over the ring and orders Hong and Cheung So to step down. When rejected, he tries to kill them off. Maddened by Sei's attempts at their lives, Hong decides to team up with Shun against Sei. Together, they manage to sabotage Sei's drug dealings and create conflicts among the different clans. It was during their time working together when Hong confesses her love for Shun.

At a bar, Hong and Shun runs into a guy who Shun recognizes as the robber who killed his wife. During a scuffle with the robber, Shun drops his wallet. Sei, who happens to be at the scene, sees this as the perfect opportunity to get back at Shun for disrupting his drug dealings. He orders the murder of the robber and plants the wallet as evidence making Shun the prime suspect in the case. During interrogation, to protect Hong's chastity, Shun refuses to provide the alibi that he was with Hong the night of the murder but Hong manages to talk him into it and he was subsequently released.

When news of the rendezvous breaks out, ring members are enraged that one of theirs is intimately involved with a cop. Deeming it was unsafe for Hong to stay on in the ring, Cheung So decides Hong should leave immediately. Just as Hong and Shun are getting ready to leave the country, Sei captures Cheung So and tries to extort $6million from Shun. During their attempt to save Cheung So, Hong and Shun engages in a shootout with Sei's gang where Sei is killed.
