Cheung is a cop living with his mother and two brothers and a sister. He has a girlfriend but they soon breakup because he simply cannot stand her bossiness. He later gets to know a neighbor girl, Ming, who has come from China to live with her uncle in HK and they start dating each other.

During a trial involving his brother, Cheung is acquainted with Kiu, the head juror who helped convince the jury to vote in his brother's favor. They soon become good friends.

Cheung later is reunited with his real father and learns that Shun is his blood brother. Shun however is unwilling to give up the rich lifestyle that he is enjoying to be with his real father. When his father threatens to tell his adoptive father that Shun is not his real son, Shun kills his real father. The hostility between the two brothers intensifies when Shun dumps Cheung's sister Ning after he gets her pregnant, causing Ning to jump off a building. Ning is paralysed from the fall. Shun is also responsible for making Cheung lose his job.

Ming soon becomes a famous singer. Sensing the difference in their status and not wanting to hold her back in her career, Cheung decides to break up with her.

During his most depressed times, Kiu has always stood by Cheung. He is touched by her loyalty and they soon fall in love and get married not long after. At Kiu's father's insistence, he later joins his company.

Shun on the other hand is facing tough times. He finds himself losing everything after his father finds out that he is not his real son. Out of desperation, he kidnaps Kiu and is responsible for sending Kiu into a deep coma. He ends up falling off a building during a scuffle with Cheung.

Probably the most touching scene in this series is the last scene where Kiu is shown lying in a hospital bed with Cheung by her side. Cheung tries to talk Kiu out of her coma but Kiu is unresponsive, except for the single tear drop that rolls out of the corner of her right eye....
