The Movie

Directing his own film, Jackie made this ballistic kung fu action masterpiece a few days short of his fortieth birthday - but you wouldn't know it from his hyper energised super knockout performance as Wong Fei Hung (the character also made famous by Jet Lee in the classic Once Upon a Time in China series).

Hung assists his father at his medical practice and weaves a fun filled existence around his village, covering up for his Mother's gamblign debts while she covers for his medical blunders.

But when Hung discovers that local gang bosses are using the foundry and its scab labour workers as a front to smuggle antiques out of China, he vows to stop them!

My Thoughts Movie Ratings
This movie is known as the best martial arts movie ever.  The question I have is WHY?  I mean it is a good movie with lots of comedy and action, but it doesn't sit in my mind as an absolute classic.  There are good fight scenes but not great fight scenes.  A very overrated movie!
