The Movie

Once Upon a Time in China is one of the classic modern Kung Fu films!
Asian champ Jet Lee stars, as Wong Fei Hung, in this classic film of fists and feet! Once Upon a Time in China is powerful, deft mixture of classic Kung Fu and classic history -gunboats are drifting off the coast of Southern China, foreign traders are making their mark on the economy, and Jesuit priests preach in the streets.

Wong Fei Hung knows desperate times lie ahead. With his friends Porky the brawling butcher and Buck Tooth Sol the doctor, he is in charge of the Black Mask Army, the local militia defending the town... A town full of protection rackets, gang violence and vicious bandits running amok, under the yoke of the heavy handed Manchu police.

It is up to Wong to lead the powerful, determined Black Flag army against all foreign aggression - but how can he do this after being placed under house arrest by the Manchu, and after his beloved 13th Auntie is kidnapped by his arch nemesis Wong?

Jet Lee's super fluid and graceful Kung Fu makes the action soar! He leaps, spins, flips and flies, dealing to all evil in his path.

My Thoughts Movie Ratings

This is the very first movie of Jet's that I ever saw.  And I think I watched every awe inspiring bit of it with my mouth open.  This movie is an experience all of it's own, and it's no wonder that after this film Jet became a house hold name.
