 GINGER PORCHE Actively involved in just about everything a senior girl can handle describes Ginger "JP" Porche. She has been a faithfully devoted member of the Outdoor Wildlife Club every since her sophmore year. The last two years, has been in the Red Cross, serving as Chairman of the Board in her junior year. This year she has added the Crafts Club to her list and is also vice-president of the Outdoor Wildlife Club. That's not the end of it. "JP" has been a band member, playing the clarinet, for 8 years. The last two of those years, she has been a member of the flags. She also participated in the All-Star Marching Band. In her spare time, Ginger loves to swim, ski, take care of animals and work outdoors. Her future plans also promise to be quite time consuming. Ginger considers herself to be lucky because she is going on the senior cruise to the Caribbean. After graduation, Ginger plans to attend Nicholls State University to study nursing. |  LANCE BLAND "Going To Boy's State was the most exciting experience I've ever been through," commented senior Lance Bland. Along with going to Boy's State this past summer, Lance was busy practicing for the 1978 football season. This was Lance's third year on the HLB football team. His nuber is 23 and he plays defensive back. He lettered in his junior and senior years. Since football season is over, Lance is now beginning practice for the baseball season. This will be Lance's third year lettering on team. He will be playing the shortstop position. Lance's athletic interest began when he started playing sports with the HARC and TPR Babe Ruth teams. He has played baseball with these teams for 7 years and basketball for 4 years. In his junior year Lance was elected to the Carnival Court. Lance belong to the FCA last year and he is a member of the Varsity Club this year. You can usually find Lance roaming around the halls at fifth hour running errands for the Guidance Department. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing, listening to rock music, and you might guess, participation in sports. Lance's highest achievement was winning first runner up in the Miss Armadillo Beauty Pageant here at HLB. After graduation, Lance plans to attend LSU and study Petroleum Technology. |
