Mrs. Rizzo


        "I would like to help develop a curriculum for the gifted high school students; aprogram that would challenge students and afford them the opportunity to develop community mindedness," commented Mrs. Rosalyn Rizzo, head of the Social Studies Department.

        Mrs. Rizzo has been teaching at HLB for 6 years, since the opening of this school. She teaches American History, Government and a new course offered this year Psychology.

        Mrs. Rizzo graduated from Saint Mary's Dominican High School. She then studied Psychology at USL, UNO and Nicholls. After earning her BA degree in Psychology, she then went back to back to Nicholls and earned BA in Social Studies. After college she taught for two years at Oaklawn Junior High. She then transferred to HLB when it open.

        Mrs. Rizzo is the sponsor of the Civitan Club. She is an active member of the Zoning Commission here in Houma. She plans to become more involved in politics, so she can fulfill her political ambitions.

        She enjoys teaching at HLB of which she says "Of the three high schools in Terrebonne Parish, we have the best faculty, administration and studentbody. We have an opportunity to express our individual differences."

        Mrs. Rizzo likes bike riding, cooking, raising plants and most of all being a "mommy" to her daughter.


Mr. Terrebonne


        A new face at HLB this semester is that of Maurice Terrebonne. Mr. Terrebonne replaces Mrs. Chatelain in the science department and spends his workdays teaching biology and general science.

        Although he was born in Raceland, Mr. Terrebonne attended Lafayette High School. He obtained his higher education from Nicholls State University and the University of New Orleans.

        Mr. Terrebonne chose to become a teacher because of the influence of his high school chemistry teacher.

        In his free time, Mr. Terrebonne likes fishing and golf.
