Big Bend National Park-- October, 1999 Santa Elena Canyon

The Santa Elena Canyon Hike is an easy 2 mile walk into the canyon but the trip is certainly not mundane or routine. Majestic cliffs rise up over 1500 feet above your head on both sides of the canyon. The raging (well not really raging) Rio Grande River runs between the two sides. On the left the cliffs are a part of Mexico and on the right, the USA. Hope you enjoy our photos.
