County, Georgia, 1840 Census records.
David Waldrop bought the land where they lived in Alabama in 1840 according to
Grandpa Simeon N. Waldrop. He didn't know when they moved on the land. It must
have been in late 1840's.

James Lewis, his wife and his parents are listed as charter members of the Union
Springs Baptist Church near Rockford, Alabama in 1848. The families are listed
on the Coosa County, Alabama 1850 Census records.
David Waldrop was supposed to have given permission to bury a man found murdered
on Six Mile Creek in 1840, which was the first person buried in the Waldrop Cemetery.
Grandpa stated David built his home North East of the Cemetery. James Lewis
Waldrop Sr. built his house behind where the old John Waldrop's Store was located.
