Perry Jackson Waldrop and Mr. Wayne C. Shearer started the Waldrop and Shearer
Hardward Company in Sherman Texas located on the North side of the square, facing
Houston street ca. 1920. In 1932, Perry Jackson Waldrop sold his half to Rush
Waldrop [ Mark Waldrop's son] and became the county commissioner. Wayne Shearer
later sold his half of the store to Rush Waldrop. Attended Baylor University,
Waco, TX. gratuated with BA. Served in the Navy 119th Construction Battalion
USN at base near Oxnard, CA. and shipped to New Guinea 1944.
In his obituary of the Dallas Morning News is listed: "engaged in the grocery
and hardward business in Sherman and in the grocery and milling business in Howe,
Van Alstyne and Dorchester....He was deacon of the First Baptist Church..."

He was married to Annie Carolyn MORROW (daughter
of John C. * MORROW and Frances Emmaline
"Emma" HOLLINGSWORTH) on 7 Nov 1894. Annie
Carolyn MORROW was born on 25 Jul 1877. There is a deed recorded 7 Nov 1785
in the Old State of Franklin, Washington Co., TN. between Alexander Morrow and
wife Elizabeth and a Joseph Duncan for $150.00 at the head of Big Limestone Creek
granted Alexander Morrow by grant and patented in North Carolina 24 Oct 1782.
Witnesses: John Morrow, Thomas Chapman, and Martin Gentry. [Book 3 p. 234, Washington
Co., TN. Original Book 6 page 77 for Source]. The relationship is unknown, but
suspected that there is one.
