462. Arthur Ernest WALDROP was born on 9 Feb 1878 in Grayson Co., TX.. He died on 17 Apr 1952 in Sherman, Grayson Co., TX.. He was buried in Georgetown Cem., Sherman, Grayson Co., TX.. Source: "History of Grayson Co., TX." 1979: "Arthur Earnest Waldrop was born near Howe in Grayson Co., TX. and grew up in the area about five miles south of Sherman. Cora Alice Phares Waldrop was also born in Grayson Co., near Howe. They were married in the Phares home in presence of their families by Rev. Mansfield. They lived near there until 1899 when they moved to Oklahoma which was then Indian Territory. They settled about 15 miles northwest of Durant at what was referred to as Robber's Roost. About 1901, they Moved backed to Grayson Co. When they came to Red River they boarded a ferry. They drove their wagon, loaded with possessions, and bulled by a team of mules onto the ferry. The mules became skittish and had to be unhitched and swam across. When they were hiteched again, they were so excited and unsettled that the mules spooked. About 1905, they moved again to Needle Ridge, about 4 miles east and north of Sadler and 5 miles north of Southmayd. In 1910, the family moved near Pottsboro. Late in 1918, they moved to Preston Bend near Sunset Hill. They moved again a year later to somewhere west of Pottsboro, buying a farm near Willow Springs. They lived there until they died. They had seven children.

He was married to Cora Alice PHARES (daughter of Lincoln Wayne "Link"* PHARES and Harriet Aangeline RIDDLE) on 18 Jul 1897 in Howe, Grayson Co., TX.. Cora Alice PHARES was born on 22 May 1882 in Howe, Grayson Co., TX.. She died on 3 Nov 1948 in Willow Springs, Grayson Co., TX.. History of Grayson Co. Texas lists Cora Alice Phares and family
members. Arthur Ernest WALDROP and Cora Alice PHARES had the following children:

child+923 i. Emma Maurine WALDROP was born on 12 Aug 1901. She died on 17 Dec 1951. Emma "Maurine" died of Leukemia in Dec. 1951.
child924 ii. Elmer Elisha WALDROP was born on 19 Mar 1903. He died on 14 Oct 1906. This child died near Sadler, TX. The death occurred during the
rainy season and the couple traveled by wagon over impassable
roads to Akers Cemetery south of Sherman, TX. for burial.

child+926 iv. Perry Justin WALDROP was born on 26 Mar 1907 in Grayson Co., TX.. He died on 2 May 1975. Perry Justin Waldrop last living 009 S.E. Quincy St., Idabel, OK.
