"Ritter" WALDROP was born about 1780 in Newberry Co., S.C..
She died in Nov 1826 in Newberry Co., S.C.. Another death date given as 1840,
Daviess Co., KY. Bought at sale of James Waldrop Jr., 3 Apr 1800, one Chest,
$4.00. She must have been eighteen years old in 1800. No other records of her
in Newberry Co., SC. Compiled by Blanche C. Davidson, 1952 There has been no
marriage record found for "Ritter" Waldrop who purchased the chest
in 1800, so it is assumed that this was the nickname for Hanna Henrietta Waldrop.
Will of Hannah Henrietta Waldrop
In the name of God, Amen, I Hanah Writter Pitts of Newberry District So.
Carolina being of sound & disposing mind & memory but weak in body, and
calling to mind the uncertainty of life, and being disirious to dispose
of such worldly estate as it hatth pleased God to blefs me with; do make
and ordain this my last Will in manner following that is to say:
I desire that my daughter Huldah Pitts do have & pofsefs my negro girl
named Sarah & her increase during her natural life and at her death it
is my will and desire that said negro girl and her increase, if there be
any, do revert back to my estate to be equally divided between my other
children.
For the faithful execution of this my Last Will and Testament, I do
nominate and appoint my son Jonathon Pitts my lawfull Executor. In
Testimony where of , I here unto affixed my hand & seal this tenth day
of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
twenty six

She was married to John PITTS (son of Henry PITTS I Capt.
and Hannah COLLIER) about 1775 in Newberry Co., S.C..
John PITTS was born in 1753 in VA.. He died in 1816 in Newberry
Co., S.C.. John Pitts had more than three children, however there names are
unknown at present. Son Johnathan listed Milton Pitts and Griffin Pitts as nephews
and a niece, Mary Pitts. The will of Hannah Ritter Waldrop Pitts was dated 10
Nov 1826, probated 11 Dec 1826. Only two children are listed by name: daughter
Hulda and Johnathan Pitts who was executor for his mother.

Dated 1816 Newberry Co., SC.
In the name of God Amen. I John Pitts of the state of South Carolina and
district of Newberry being very sick and weak in body but perfect mind
and memory, calling unto mind the nortality of this body and knowing that
it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last
will and testament, in manner following
Viz: first my will is that the tract of land which I lately purchased of
Levi Pitts sen. my Negro man named James and my chair and harnefs be
immedately sold after my decease and that out of the money arising
therefrom that my just debts and funeral charges be paid if it should
prove sufficient, if not so much of the balance of my estate to be sold
as may be sufficient to pay off all my just debts------ Item I give to my
beloved wife Hannah Pitts all the remainder of my estate both personal
and real during her natural life or widowhood except that she is to give
each of my sons when they arrive at the age of twenty one years a horse
saddle and bridle worth at least eight five dollars- and provided she
marrys I give her a equal share with my children. -- Item my will is at
the death or marriage of my wife Hannah Pitts that the whole of my estate
be sold and equally divided among my children, to be paid to them and to
their use at the age of twenty one years or at the discretion of my
executors and I do herby nominate and appoint my friend John S. Carwile
and my beloved wife Hannah Pitts executor and executrix of this my last
will and testament. and I do hereby utterly disallow and revoke all and
every former testament will or legacy ratifying and confirming this and
no other to be my last will and testament --- In wittness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand and seal this Fourteenth Day of January in the year
of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixteen --- Signed Sealed
published pronounced and Declared by the said John Pitts as his last will
and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the
presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names ----

Jonathan PITTS died in 1830 in Newberry Co., S.C.. He was born in Newberry
Co., S.C.. Jonathan Pitts willed his estate to his nephews: Milton and Griffin
Pitts and a niece, Mary Pitts [Parents unknown]. Since his estate went to his
nephews and niece, it is assumed he never married, or his family was deceased
at the time of his death.

South Carolina, In the Name of God amen, I Jonathan Pitts of the State aforesaid
and District of Newberry, being in a reasonable State of health, and of perfect
Sound and disposing Mind and Memory thanks be to god for his Mercies and calling
to Mind the certainty of Death, I do Make and ordain this my last Will and
testament, In the first place I commend my Soul into the hands of almighty
God who gave ti me, and my body of flesh to the Grave to be decently interred
at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named, and as touching such Worldly
Estate as God in his mercy hath been pleased to bless me with I do dispose
of in the following Manner (Vix) In the first place my Will is that the whole
of my Estate both real and personal be sold at public auction on a credit
of One and two years for my real estate and one year for all my personal
Estate, and the Money thence arising together with all Moneys that may be
due to me be applied so much thereof as may be necessary to the extinguishment
of all my Just debts and funeral expenses, and my Will further is that all
the balance of said Money be divided into three Equal shares, One of which
I do give and bequeath to my niphew Wilton Pitts to him and his heirs forever,
One of which I do give and bequeath to my Niece Mary Pitts to her and her
heirs forever and one of which I do give and bequeath to my Nephew Griffin
Pitts to him and his heirs forever, the Money of those under age at my death
to be kept at interest by my Executor and paid to them as they Marry or come
of age and I do constitute and appoint my trusty friend and relative Samuel
Waldrop to be my lawful Executor to see to the prosecuting of this my last
Will and testament, and I do hereby revoke all Wills or legacies by me heretofore
Made or given. Rattifying and confirming this to be my last Will and testament,
in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 13th
day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand and Eight hundred and thirty,
and in the fifty fourth year of the Independence of the United States of America-
