Hi! My name is Heather. I have struggled with obesity all my life and recently decided to have Weight Loss Surgery (WLS) in order to take back my life. On March 19, 2001 I had a procedure called the Mini Gastric Bypass. (To learn more about this procedure go to www.clos.net) I can't say this was an easy decision to make but I feel that living in an obese body is alot harder that anything post surgery. Surgery may not be the answer for everyone, but I was running out of options and it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. At 25 years old my weight had impacted my health and quality of life in many ways. I had high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, fertility and gynecological problems just for starters. Not to mention the fact that I could barely tie my own shoes or make the trip upstairs to my office each day. June 2001 I am over 3 months post-op now and I have already lost over 60 lbs. I try not to weigh all the time (I go crazy watching the scale.) I have gone from a size 26w to 18w-16w dress. I feel wonderful and want to share with everyone how this surgery has changed my life. My prayers are with each of you. Please contact me if I can help you in any way. Heather |
October 2001 Better late than never.... I'm just over 7 months post-op and I feel great. I have lost over 80lbs. I never thought that was possible. I have not had any complications as a result of my surgery, with the exception of some hair loss. Things are going great! I can't get over how great it feels to be walking around in a "normal" size body. Don't get me wrong I still have more weight to lose but it is so nice to be able to buy clothes in a regular store. Yes, I'd do it again in a heartbeat! Heather hmac129@yahoo.com |

December 2001 Happy New Year! I'm 9 months post op and doing great. I'm down 100lbs. now and I can't get over my own reflection. It seems like just yesterday that I was going in for surgery, I can't believe how my life has changed in 9 months. My hair stopped thinning (thank God) and I cut it off short to help it grow back. My health is great, I'm not taking any meds right now. I'm wearing a size 14 petite. It's so nice not to have the constant struggle with my weight. I only wish I had done this sooner.
