My name is Holly Manley. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on
January 18, 1999. Within two weeks, I had a lumpectomy,
followed by radiation and chemotherapy. I was very fortunate. The
doctors told me it was a very high grade cancer and, at the time of its
discovery, it was about the size of a pinhead or asterisk *. So much for
the importance of a mammogram.

Just before the surgery, I met with several doctors. All of
them were amazed that this tiny * was found at all. I call it my blessing
from GOD! I was fortunate to be blessed with good people who helped me
with my two dogs, Tosca and Sinjin. I also want to thank all
the technicians, doctors, and friends that helped me through this hard time.

Over the last five years, I have lost several people to cancer. They were not
related, they were people I knew on my sojourn with this horrible disease, some
were good friends. Make no mistake, when you don't feel well, go to the
doctor! Ladies, go for the yearly, mammogram, and be grateful for every
day the Lord blesses you.
