![]() Transylvanian UFOs September 27, 1972 On the night of September 27, 1972 a night watchman from a local parish in the Transylvanian Alps, Romania had a close encounter of the second kind. He observed an UFO in the night sky then watched it land on a nearby hilltop. The next day a group villagers hiked to the top of the hill to investigate. On the hilltop the group discovered a cornfield with a clump of cornstalks bent over about 3 1/4 feet above the ground. The patch formed a circle about 20 feet in diameter.
A few weeks later an investigating team from Bucharest University arrived on location to begin an investigation. They studied the topography, measured the imprints in the ground and photographed the site. They took samples of soil and vegetation for analysis. The investigation resulted in a statement of the obvious. A heavy three-footed unidentified object landed in the field. The team concluded that since the corn had not been flattened to the ground that object stood at least a yard off of the ground. They also concluded the craft the made a vertical landing and take off, since the site was between three apple trees that apparently had not been damaged. Careful analysis of the soil revealed unusual amounts of radioactivity. The biological clocks of the moles in the area had also been disturbed. Although it was only Autumn the moles were coming out of hibernation. This Transylvaian Alps close encounter remains a Fascinating Mystery. |
