On the weekend of Saturday November 11 and Sunday November 12, 2000, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum hosted a visiting CF-18 Hornet from 416 Squadron based at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta.
So, why are we looking at an F-18 page on a Hawker Hunter web site?
Well, firstly, the aircraft was certainly worth viewing at the time, and I feel that it deserves another look. Secondly, the F-18 is currently being flown by the Swiss Air Force, so being on a site dedicated to a Swiss Hunter is not really all that out of place. And last (but not least), some of you may be getting tired of looking at photos of me sitting in, or posing by J-4006. So, for a change of pace, here are some pictures of yours truly standing by the CF-18. My presence in the shots also gives some scale, as sometimes one can forget just how large these aircraft really are.
Once again, photography and scanning was done by Tony Hayes. |
