When God Created Man

God created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh. He also created man. He created a garden to put the man in and animals and plants for food. The first man's name was Adam, and for the first year of his existence he was happy.

After a year, Adam decides one day to pray to God about something. He says "dear God, I've been very happy here, the garden is beautiful, the plants and trees bear delicious fruit, and the animals are nice. However, I'm very lonely."

And God replied, "Adam, for you I will create a woman."

"What's a woman?" asked Adam, intrigued by the idea of another.

"A woman will be the most perfect creature I have made, she will be so smart that she will know what you want before you ask for it. She will be so beautiful you won't be able to take your eyes off her, and she will attend to your every need."

Adam was stunned. "Wow! That would be amazing!" he said excitedly.

Then God said, "the bad news is she will cost you your left leg, your right arm, and your left eye."

Adam was clearly not incredibly impressed with this idea, but gave it some thought. After thinking for a while he looked up to the heavens and said, "Ummm, what can I get for a rib?"
