A housewife from the neighbourhood: "I remember much about hiro kun. His skin was very white and beautiful."

yukihiro as Awaji Yukihiro, born in Chiba. Taking the JR express, about 10 minutes walk from the station. It was a very silent street situated at the residential area.

yukihiro's father was the chairman of the regional children's welfare, very respectful figure in the region. His mother was a teacher of traditional Japanese dressing. The Awaji family was thus being very respected in the area.

An old neighbour of Awaji: "yukkie(yukihiro) and my daughter was in the same school year, they always played together. yukkie's mother was a very nice person, and we always went to their home to have tea together. yukkie's father was always busy, and we seldom saw him. The time yukkie first played drums was during Secondary 3, and he practised almost every day. The sound of his drumming was so large that many neighbours complained, and yukkie would speak of his uneasiness to me... 'ojisan, my drumming is too noisy, I'm being complained again ne.'"

yukihiro's mother: "My son, ever since at a small age, he had already been a very stubborn boy who never gives up anything. When he was in Kindergarten he took his homeworks very seriously and tackled with ethusiasism, he'd say 'I'm not going to stop'". Once, having a quarrel with his Kindergarten classmate, he refused to apologize, 'I've not done wrong. I won't say sorry.' He was a really stubborn child ne. My husband and I were always out working, left alone yukihiro and his younger sister in the house. But the two of them had got on very well, till now they remain a very close relationship."
It was a very warm family.

"When he started playing drums, he was very keen on practising it every day. Both my husband and me supported him. Once began with something he'd never give up easily was part of his character. Even when his ankle was damaged due to excessive practising. He'd still continue his deadly practise on his bed."

Among the neighbourhood, it is also agreed that yukihiro was a very polite boy and often greeted others when he came upon them.

yukihiro studied in Youhikaru Kindergarten, and later he entered elementary school.

An elementary schoolmate of yukihiro: "yuki(yukihiro) was very splendid and all the time he was running in the sportsground. In Grade 4, he was very active in club activities, he joined the atheletics team short run ne. Though he was small in size, he ran really fast. He was very popular in the class, also among the girls ne."
yukihiro was especially popular among girls of his undergrades.

Another schoolmate: "Awaji's home was very close to Udagawa shop and candy shop, every time we passed by we'd stop and buy some candies. He also played with GUNDAM and MACROSS models ne. He was very good in class making these things."

yukihiro always went to festivals nearby his home, he'd catch goldfish and watch fireworks. He liked festivals very much.

yukihiro's mother talking about his elementary school time: "Every day, he'd walk to school with a very pleasant mood... When dusk fell, he'd play around the rivers and fields nearby our home ne."

After that, yukihiro entered The Fifth Municipal secondary school of the region.

yukihiro's homeroom teacher during secondary 2 & 3: "Awaji kun's memory was, small, with white skin like a girl. He was very hardworking. He was especially good at mathematics subjects ne. Awaji kun once, when after school would went along with 2 and 3 friends to play. Now we always see Awaji on TV. Awaji kun is in L'Arc-en-Ciel very popular now."

A secondary schoolmate: "We sometimes went to our friend's home to read manga(comics) ne. He liked girls comics ne. Actually, he drew comics very well too ne."

yukihiro started playing drums about this time. How he came into playing drums, a schoolmate: "It was since secondary 2 ne. un. At first it was ENJI(?)'s drum set that he bought. Since the sound was too big, he muted the drums with strips of cloth, and practised with lighter sound produced ne. Where Awaji's interest of ROCK and BAND stermed was from a schoolmate's brother's influence. At that time Awaji went to play with the schoolmate, and spotted that brother of the schoolmate playing guitar." However, instead of playing guitar, yukihiro actually played drums. That reporting schoolmate is still amused about this. To this, yukihiro said he originally wanted to buy a guitar, but he could not find his favourite model in the instrument shop, so he wandered around and caught sight of a drum set. "Kakkoi~!" noticing he had enough money in hand, he immediately bought it home.

Soon yukihiro entered High school, which was 15 minutes walk from the station.

"This High school's entering requirement is quite high ne. It is very difficult to get in ne."
According to the above, it is a high level school.

At his High school time, yukihiro himself: "For me, when I started High school I began to have long hair. I was often misinterpreted as a girl when walking on the street ne. I was chosen as the discipline prefect. Being the discipline prefect as well as maintaining a generally good academic result, I was like nobody bothered me for breaking the school rule."

Since it was a school with very good reputation, the school actually felt very troubled with this long-hair student. But as long as yukkie remained a good result, they could do nothing to stop him. So yukkie went on having his long hair.

About being elected to be the discipline prefect, it was in fact due to his absence on the election day, the others tricked him by making him win the election...

A teacher of yukihiro: "In the 3 years, sometimes it rained after school ne. I was at the entrance(of the building) when Awaji kun occassionally passed by, 'My home is quite near, please use my umbrella' and lent me his umbrella. That umbrella is now still borrowed from him...(smile)"

Within normality sees tenderness and mildness, this is yukihiro. However, this spirit of his, the strong determination of pursuing the truth. It is this determination, which made this fruitful present for him.
