Chapter 5

Justin picked her up and carried her to the back

Mel: please get your hands off me stop, ow, ow, stop (screamed)

Just then Melissa started shaking uncontrollably. Justin didn’t know what to do
Justin: JC get your ass up please
JC: what
Justin: please something is wrong with Melissa
JC: what did you do to her
Justin: she was staying shit about don’t touch me, it hurts, please stop and then I carried her out to the back and she started shaking UN…
JC: shit Justin look what you did, get the other guys up

JC ran to the back of the bus to find Melissa having a seizure. JC held Melissa’s body down. Joey held her feet and Chris her arms while JC was at the head with shirt off so Melissa wouldn’t bite her tongue.

JC: Justin I need you to get pills out of Mel’s bag and then Lance call Johnny and then her dancers. The number is on that paper in her bag
Justin: which pills
JC: bring all of them here with water quick

JC found the right pills and put them down Mel’s throat, he knew as well as Melissa that this was going to happen. It was because she was too over stressed. All the guys were really worried about her. They had never seen something like that before. It was frightening but JC’s seen it many times. He had to go help Mel 4 times during her last tour. The bus was stopped and then Johnny came on

Johnny: JC how is she
JC: she’s doing ok, I need a wash cloth
Johnny: again?
JC: afraid so, I’ve seen it coming
Johnny: so have I and should have done something
JC: don’t worry it’s done with and call Tony for me
Johnny: oh yeah of course
JC: we really can’t do anything else and the doctors can’t do anything because she’s in there every month. I know how to take care of it; she needs at least 2 days
Johnny: ok we are off the next 2 days. Just make her conformable and I’ll go call Tony
JC: send him my love
Johnny: will do

Joey: what was all that about, this has happened before
JC: yup that’s why I was out 4 times last tour to help her. I need a cool wet cloth, a cup of ice water. Pillows and lots of blankets
Chris: why
JC: Chris just do it, I’ve done this before I know how to handle it
Lance: anything else I can do
JC: no I need those pills though
Justin: JC I didn’t know I’m sorry I didn’t know what to do
JC: hey Justin just go back to sleep and I know its half way your fault you didn’t know do no harm
Justin: is she going to be ok
JC: should be
Justin: why does this happen
JC: it just does and I can’t tell you why because of the trust I have with her but maybe one day she’ll tell you
Justin: anything I can do
JC: you can go back to bed I’ll stay with her

Melissa was in a heap on the back couch under 5 blankets and 3 pillows. JC had to make her as comfortable as possible. JC was sleeping on the floor so he could take care of Melissa. Justin awoke around 7 and decided to check on Melissa.

Chris: you know
Justin: know what
Chris: that this happens all the time when she’s over stressed
Justin: how’d you know
Chris: because sleepy is my best- bud
Justin: I didn’t know what to do
Chris: couldn’t have done much, but between you and me she doesn’t know how much time left
Justin: what’s that’s suppose to mean
Chris: just like I said don’t waste her time, I’m going back to bed
Justin: ok

Everyone was sleeping until around 10 and was in the front of the bus so they wouldn’t bother Melissa or JC. Megan was waking up around 11

Mel: (groggily) JC, oh my head
JC: (woke up immediately) How are you doing
Mel: my head hurts a lot but other wise I’m fine
JC: do you need anything
Mel: no not really except my medicine
JC: ok I’ll get you water

Out in the front

Justin: I wonder why it happens
Joey: don’t know but it happens oftenly
Chris: you know it’s not fair of Melissa of you talking about her
Joey: ok
Lance: hey JC what are you doing
JC: getting some water so Melissa can take her pills
Lance: is she going to be all right
JC: yeah
Lance: who’s Tony because you said to Johnny to call him
JC: oh that’s Melissa’s fath… I mean friend
Joey: are you all right
JC: yeah fine

The rest of the day was boring and didn’t do much since they couldn’t do much on a bus. Melissa was coming to and getting over the seizure that happened the night before

Mel: Johnny did you call Tony
Johnny: yeah he can’t come out because if a game but we are going to be there tomorrow so you have to go see him
Mel: will do
Johnny: why does this really happen
Mel: from my past, living with it for 13 years it catches up with you
Johnny: ok you get some more rest and I’ll leave you alone, your bus comes in next month
Mel: great thanks
Johnny: I know you’re not thrilled but give them a chance because they’re great guys.
Mel: I know I’ve bonded with JC and Chris really well
Johnny: that’s great to hear now go to sleep
Mel: ok

Mel went back to sleep. The guys had no idea why she had a seizure and didn’t really want to talk about it. She was watching TV when Justin came in

Mel: oh its you
Justin: fine I’ll leave but I need to talk to you
Mel: fine speak
Justin: well JC told me that I caused your seizure and I fell really badly
Mel: well
Justin: I was so scared that something might happen to you and I’m just getting to know you
Mel: know me, bull shit because all you have been doing was fighting with me and talking about me behind my back the last couple of days
Justin: well I want to start it off clean, I’m sorry ok
Mel: well and what am I going to say sorry, don’t think so because I didn’t do anything wrong
Justin: I know and I want to be your friend, I realized that given put in a spot like this you don’t have many true friends and that’s all you need at a job like this and I want to be your friend
Mel: are you serious or you fucking with me
Justin: I’m serious no matter what I want to be your friend.
Mel: serious you want to start over
Justin: yeah I don’t want miss out on a friendship great like this one has potential and everything. I wasn’t completely honest with you either so I want to start over
Mel: ok I’ll give you that
