Chapter 9

Later that night Melissa was in her room looking over the evidence and lots of papers for the trial. She was chatting with her attorney and lawyers. She was having a hard time.

KNOCK- KNOCK

Melissa: who is it
Chris: its Chris I need to talk to you
Mel: fine come in…don’t go any further what do you need
Chris: I know
Mel: you know what
Chris: about the things your doing for the reason I know
Mel: who the hell told you, did JC do it
Chris: no don’t get that way, I found out on my own
Mel: but how
Chris: bits and pieces and I put them all together like when you and Justin were mad a each other and Justin was on his phone with his mom and when she said I love you to him and he said it back. You ran off with tears.
Then when we were all talking on who we missed the most, we all said our parents and family, you said friends and Tony and his wife. Then when you got all-defensive when we touched you in the beginning of the tour or when that story about the twins getting abused you couldn’t watch it you left and said that you were tired. When you were on the computer talking with your attorney or lawyers or on the phone late at night. Then today with those pictures of you and your injuries. Melissa I know you were abused by your parents for a long time

Melissa just about broke down, she wasn’t careful enough. Chris went to comfort her

Mel: (crying) the others know don’t they
Chris: no they don’t and I didn’t think they had a clue except for JC because I knew he knew. Melissa its ok your out away from your parents and no one here is going to hurt you
Mel: I tried so hard to be strong for Andrew and Jason, it hurt so badly, I just wish you didn’t have to find out like this
Chris: don’t worry they are here for you and they love you too even though you didn’t have many people love you but your brothers do and so do we especially JC. We care deeply for you. I know you can’t tell the others but if you need me in court I’ll be there for you
Mel: thank you so much
Chris: If you need any help with this stuff with your lawyers or stuff about the court comes to me
Mel: when did you find out
Chris: the night you had that seizure basically and I got more proof today up in that room, why do you get them
Mel: oh and because I was hit with a solid metal pole too much
Chris: I’m sorry
Mel: don’t be
Chris: I will but I’m not going to pity you and I want you to get some rest because you have a big day tomorrow and the next and you have to ride well because we’ll be there
Mel: you know almost everything
Chris: I care about you and come to JC or me whenever or wherever you need to ok
Mel: yeah thanks and meet me at the hair place at 8 tomorrow
Chris: that’s down the first hall on your right then in the back
Mel: yeah, now you should get some sleep you can have the guest room that’s next to mine and thank you
Chris: your welcome

Melissa went to bed knowing that she had someone that cared about her and would help her at anytime. The next morning at the hair place in Melissa’s house.

Chris: why do you have to do this again and what’s with this wig it looks real.
Melissa: it has to be corn rolled so I can put my wig on and that wig is real
Chris: then…why…I’m confused
Melissa: my hair got cut lots because it grew fast. Every time I got like 6 inches off and gave it to locks of love and then the time before last when it was done it was to have hair like that whenever I needed it
Chris: wow cool who’s in this picture
Melissa: that’s me and my brother at a motor crossed competition, which one am is me
Chris: the one on the left
Melissa: nope, I’m the one on the right because I have a scar right below my jaw line from that stuff we talked about.
Chris: wow your stylists are great
Melissa: yup can’t say the same with yours when you had your pineapple
Chris: ok fine
