New Astroturf in Mexico City!!!!!
The new turf installed in Mexico City is the first and only turf in Mexico approved by the FIH (International Hockey Federation) to develop official international matches.

The Astroturf (located infront of the Olympic Velodrome "Agustin Melgar"  in the northeast of the city) will be used as center of high performance for the national teams as well as for the Mexico City Hockey Association's teams. They will use the turf as training center.

The first game played on the turf was on June 3, 2001 and it was part of the
AHDF's League Championship. The turf will be used for national and international games. The location of Mexico City is a strong atractive as a training place for top international hockey teams because of its height above sea level and because of the quality of the sinthetic carpet.
