Chase you down with an eggbeater and make you give it back? Too messy. Kidnap your gerbil and hold it ransom? Too cruel. Sob quietly to myself in an empty corner of a dark room away from all human contact? Probably. .....At least tell me if you want something. I won't bite. I'll just come to your house and kick your dog.
Shallow Hal (PG-13)
Rating: C+
I don't quite know what to think of this movie. I do know that it's something like the fifth movie in a year and a half to star this Jack Black guy. Who the hell is this moron? He's really not all that funny; in fact, I don't even recall laughing once at his character. The humor in the movie comes from Hal Larson's (Jack Black) sidekick Mauricio Wilson (Jason Alexander) and the horde of ugly and fat women adorning this film. Honestly, my girlfriend and I spend the whole movie waiting to see what all these pretty girls really looked like. That's about it. The whole premise of a shallow skirtchaser that is brainwashed to see women as they really are is creative enough, but it lacks the star power and the script to make Shallow Hal a hilarious hormonal romp. Overall, the movie is just kinda silly. If you've already seen it, that's great. It came out in 2001 so maybe you've forgotten it already.
