Sept. 9th
I spent the weekend at Mrs. Isenberg's house. I watched Mrs. Isenberg put my picture on her web site! I think I look pretty handsome sitting in that tree.I also watched the caterpillars eat and eat and eat. Then one by one they hung from the top of the box and changed into a chrysalis. I got to listen to some music. Kira practiced the piano and Otto his bass. I sang a song form them.I am looking forward to my next home visit. Either you or your parents or both of you can help me write in my journal.

Today when Sarah brought me to her house, the first thing she did was to introduce me to her parakeet "Skye". Today is a very special day at Sarah's house. It is her dad Tom's birthday. We had to get a special birthday dinner cooked. Sarah and I had to peel and cut all the apples for applesauce. Then Sarah introduced me to her special "Nannie" and "Poppie" and "Papa" who were over for a visit. We had birthday cake. We were very busy tonight! Sarah has to have a bath now. I think I will go to bed. I am "bird tired."
Bye for now,

Today I went to Elliot's house. When we first got there we watched Star Wars. I really liked it. I met Elliot's mom, his brother Samuel and his dog Lobo. I also met Rocket, a blue Jay and Jabber, a parrot. We had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. It was good and the sauce was the same color as me. The I played Game Boy. The game I played was Croc. Later Elliot, his brother Sam and their dad  picked tomatoes, beans and wimpy, stub carrots from their garden. At bedtime, Elliot read me a book called Magic Tree House, Vacation Under the Volcano. I slept in a chair in Elliot's room and woke up in his back pack on my way back to school. I guess I'm a sleepyhead. But now I'm all ready to visit another friend's house and family.

This weekend I went home with Emily. It's been a very exciting week and I'm very tired, but not too tired for a birthday party! Emily's grandpa turned 80 years old so we had cake and ice cream. I really liked meeting the family. In the morning, Emily introduced me to her other animal friends along with her brother Jimmy. We played all morning, then their Grandpa and Uncle Steve came for a visit. They're from Albany. I got to try lots of different foods but my favorites were the peanuts and the grapes we picked fresh off the vine! Tonight Emily's going to let me sleep in a bird house she made especially for me (and my new friend "Duck".) I'm so excited that I think I'll retire early, in my very own house. (Yawn, yawn)
Goodnight,

Today Jessie said we would have a busy day and was she ever right. First we went to her brother's football game. It sure was cold, it was so cold we left with Grandma before it ended. Her house was warm and we played with Jessie's cousins because we  all ate dinner together. When we went home to Jessie's house to relax her brother go hurt, and guess what? Grandma came to Jessie's house to watch us while her mom and dad got to take her brother to the
hospital. I sure like Grandma, but this house is crazy. I need some rest now, see you soon.

Hi, I just arrived at Zachary's house. We had a fun trip on the bus. I met his two younger brothers, Jordan and Seth. His mom and dad are really nice also. Zach and I had a snack then we had a camp out in his family room. That was so cool. After the camp out, I got lost among all the pillows and blankets. Boy, was I scared!! Earlier in the day, Zach and I chased three deer from the garden. First they looked at us, but when we screamed at them, they proceeded to run away. Just then, Zach's dad came home. We ran down the driveway to greet him. First, we made sure that he saw us. We got in the truck and sat on his lap. Zach took control of the steering wheel and drove the truck all over the yard and around the garden. What a scream!! Zachary drove back to the house and parked in the driveway (with a lot of help from dad). Zach and I had dinner with the family. I had worms with sauce and cheese. Everyone else had bar-b-qued steak, mashed potatoes, mushrooms and a tomato and cucumber salad fresh from the garden (before the deer came). Now we are going to bed after a bath and a story. Good night!

Sept. 29
Today I went home with Rachel. Her mom picked us up from school. When I got to Rachel's I met her "toy" rabbit, blue jay, real turtles and chickens. We spent ½ hour reading Rachel's school papers and her library book. Mrs. Isenberg keeps those first graders busy! Wow!
We went out for Chinese food for dinner. I had rice, chicken and a fortune cookie! Yummy! Rachel's dad and mom love Chinese food. Rachel seemed to like the fortune cookie best. When we got home, I played for awhile, then we went to bed. Rachel made a bed for me out of a shoebox.
I woke up, and I am still here with Rachel because it's a Saturday. They woke me up early and put me in the car. We drove north for three hours to Lake Placid. That is where the Olympics were held in 1932 and 1980. Our first stop was where the ski jumps are held. I stayed in the car when they took a ski lift, then an elevator up. They saw people practicing jumps into a pool of water. Our second stop was at Whiteface Mountain. They went up an enclosed ski lift called a gondola to the summit. It was over 3200 feet above sea level. Then they went to the Octoberfest. Lastly, they went to the Olympic Center where we saw speedskaters and hockey players! Twelve hours after waking up-they finally put me to bed! Sunday we went to church, two birthday parties and played in the yard. I'm pooped! But ready for the next house!
