The Suffolk Mariners Ice Hockey team is part of Long Islands's Blueline Hockey league. Games are played at the Rinx in Hauppauge or at Sports Plus in Lake Grove. The Mariners are part of the night league and play the majority of their games at 12:15 am. A schedule of games can be found on the Mariners schedule page or the Blueline Hockey web site.
Many of the team's original players are members of the Suffolk County Police Department, including players from the Marine Bureau, K-9, Airport Operations Unit and patrol divisions.
2003 was the team's rookie season and the Mariners made it to the playoff round, unfortunately losing in the last game of the series to the X-Men. The team grew stronger over the summer and completed the fall season, once again making it to the playoffs. The winter season started off strong and ended with the Mariners winning it all! Their next season starts Feb 27,2004. Anyone interested in joining the team should contact us asap to be added to the roster.
