Trophies

EVERY YEAR, THESE TROPHIES ARE AWARDED TO RECOGNIZE THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF PLAYERS IN THE NHL.  THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF THE TROPHIES AND A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THEY ARE AWARDED FOR.

Campbell Trophy: Awarded to the Western Conference team that advances to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Wales Trophy: Awarded to the Eastern Conference team that advances to the Stanley Cup Finals.
Presidents' Trophy: Awarded to the team with the best overall record at the end of the regular season.
Jack Adam's Award: Awarded to the top coach in the NHL.
Calder Trophy: Awarded to the top rookie in the NHL.
King Clancy Trophy: Awarded to the player who best showed leadership to his team and gave a humanitarian contribution.
Hart Trophy: Awarded to the player who was voted most valuable to his team.
Jennings Trophy: Awarded to the goalie(s) who played a minimum of 25 games and had the fewest goals against.
Lady Byng Trophy: Awarded to the player who best exemplifies gentlemanly conduct.
Masterson Trophy: Awarded to the player who best exemplifies perseverance and sportsmanship.
Norris Trophy: Awarded to the top defenseman in the NHL.
Pearson Award: Awarded to the player who was voted most valuable by his peers.
Rocket Richard Trophy: Awarded to the player who finished with the most goals at the end of the regular season.
Art Ross Trophy: Awarded to the player who finished with the most points at the end of the regular season.
Selke Trophy: Awarded to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game.
Conn Smythe Trophy: Awarded to the player who was most valuable in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Vezina Trophy: Awarded to the top goaltender in the NHL.
