Period 1
(With the crowd screaming like this was game 7 of the championship, the mood was set, both the fans and players were ready for the first drop of the puck. Both teams came out slow, methodical, just feeling each other out. But after about five minutes of this, the teams started to open it up a bit, with long up ice passes, and fancy skating. The Patriots Preston fed a crisp pass over to the Redlights Buhler who ripped a shot, OH! It hit the crossbar! The rebound comes out to Cote who turns and fires a pass up to Reynolds; it's a 2 on 1! Reynolds dekes left then right, he's in deep, makes a pass between his own legs to Amafe who backhands the shot top shelf as it knocks the water bottle off the net!)
1. CANADIAN, AMAFE 1 (REYNOLDS, COTE), 15:05
Period 2
(The puck drops and the Canadians win the faceoff, drawing the puck back into their own defensive zone. With the puck behind the net, the Canadian All-Stars look to set up a play, as they break out, the aggressive forechecking of the Americans forces them back behind the net. The Canadian team again breaks out, this time crossing their blue line; Buhler with a great poke check steals the puck and quickly feeds Preston who is already breaking up ice. He draws two defenders, and make a perfect no look pass to Lister, who is now all alone, backhand to forehand, five hole!)
2. AMERICAN, LISTER 1 (PRESTON, BUHLER), 00:40
(Both teams are really into a rhythm, and making some most impressive plays. The Stampedes Daly lays a crushing hit on Adam Beerman and is able to kick the puck over to Hansen. And with Spencer's speed everyone is caught flat footed and unable to lend any support to John Egoprin. Breakaway! Left, right, drops between his legs, left skate kicks it back to his stick, glove side high, no chance, the Americans have taken the lead!)
3. AMERICAN, HANSEN 1 (DALY), 02:27
(The Canadians decide to play a tougher, tighter forechecking game after that 2nd goal by the Americans. It really pays off as they keep the American All-Stars at bay. The Oilbarons Miller intercepts a pass at his own blue line and takes 3 steps before firing a pass over to Cote, who breaks into the Americans zone. He drops the pass to Reynolds who tees up a MONSTER shot from the point, beating Kincaid stick side!)
4. CANADIAN, REYNOLDS 1 (COTE, MILLER), 10:57
(Both teams are now playing a more conservative game, but not at the expense of the action. Niklas Lee feeds a pass over to Stacy Simmons, who blasts a shot; kick save by Kincaid, rebound shot by McCrary, blocker save! The puck is loose, there is a scramble, Kincaid is down, tries to cover the puck, it's still loose. McCrary picks it up feeds it over to Lee, he rifles a shot, OH! Glove save by a sprawling Kincaid! The ensuing faceoff is won by Preston; Goldwynn picks the puck up and feeds it over to defensive mate Mironov. Mironov starts the rush up ice, he hits his blue line, passes to Preston who one times it over to a streaking Buhler, he's in alone, and throws a wrister at the net, beating Egoprin stick side.)
5. AMERICAN, BUHLER 1 (PRESTON, MIRONOV), 17:23
Period 3
(The score is much closer than some had predicted it would be. The American All-Stars are only up 3-2 starting the third period. Again both teams went to a tight forechecking game, not giving each other any room to work. But with the Americans posted up in the Canadians zone, Goldwynn passed the puck down the blue line to fellow defenseman Carlisle, who sent the puck cross ice to the Whalers Tomi Gunn, who one-timed it like a Tommy gun beating Hanson stick side low.)
6. AMERICAN, GUNN 1 (CARLISLE, GOLDWYNN), 06:40
(The Canadians really seemed to be flustered after that last goal, and the Americans had them running around inside their own zone. Wrisley to Daly, across the crease to a wide open, on the doorstep, Hansen, who made no mistake knocking the puck into the wide open net for his second of the night.)
7. AMERICAN, HANSEN 2 (DALY, WRISLEY), 07:32
(The Canadians now down 5-2, came out hitting! And it started to disrupt the Americans attack, but as the Canadians got a scoring line onto the ice, the Americans gave them a taste of their own medicine, sending out Moore, Egeuword, and Savage. And it didn't take them long to get things going. The Canadians got real fancy with their passing, and it cost them as Savage was able to steal the pass and send the puck over to Egeuword, who let a slapshot go at the blue line. Hanson made the routine save, but left a rebound to which Moore fired into the empty net.)
8. AMERICAN, MOORE 1 (EGEUWORD, SAVAGE), 09:41
(The American All-Stars kept the pressure on, sensing that they had already delt the final blow, but still respecting a very talented Canadian team. Mironov pinching along the boards was able to keep a clearing pass in the zone, he gained control and sent the puck down to Preston who spins and sets up behind the net. Faking to the left, he goes right feeding a pass to a cutting Lister, and he makes no mistake as he finds the back of the net.)
9. AMERICAN, LISTER 2 (PRESTON, MIRONOV), 12:28
(The Americans were now totally dominating the game. To this point the Canadian All-Stars had not even registered a shot on goal, not for a lack of trying but the Americans were playing a great forecheck, and the defense was solid! The Pyros Vachon sends a nice saucer pass that just goes over Thuvtchin's stick and right on the tape of Wendel Roth, who goes stick side and muscles the puck passed Hanson.)
10. AMERICAN, ROTH 1 (VACHON), 16:00
(With the score now 8-2 and only 4 minutes to go in the game, both teams seemed to know it was over, and everything once again loosened up. Whereas before players didn't have much room to operate, now they had all kinds of time and room. Daly picks up a loose puck, and feeds a pass along the boards to Hansen, who dances side to side with the puck, dodging hits. He then skates along the center line, spins out of the way of a hit at center ice, while maintaining control of the puck. He crosses the line, puts the puck between a defenders legs, goes around picking it up on the otherside, goes left, right, left, backhand, GOAL!)
11. AMERICAN, HANSEN 3 (DALY), 19:09
(The Canadians were not ready to leave the game at 9-2. The Americans win the faceoff and dump the puck in the zone, Cote retrieves it and passes to miller on the give and go, perfectly executed, as the defender reacts to Miller with the puck, the puck is already back on Cote's stick. He cuts right then hits Amafe who takes the puck across center ice. Amafe now has great speed built up and as two American defenders try to sandwich him, he spins through the middle of them, causing them to check themselves to the ice. He crosses the blue line, it's like a penalty shot, one-on-one, he gives Seabrook a shoulder fake, and Seabrook bites on it. Losing his edge, and falling to the ice, he can only be a spectator, like the 20,000 fans watching the game, as Amafe goes around him and taps the puck into the empty net!)
12. CANADIAN, AMAFE 2 (COTE, MILLER), 19:37
