APHL All-Stars Skills Contest
From Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
Welcome
to the second annual APHL All-Stars Skills Contest. Tonight the APHL
presents some of their best talents as we demonstrate the player’s abilities.
The following will be the 7 events that are going to test our players on their specific skills. The winner of each event will give his team one point.
Event #1 : Puck Control Relay
Event #2 : Rapid Fire
Event #3 : Breakaway Contest
Event #4 : Hardest Shot
Event #5 : Fastest Skater
Event #6 : Goaltender Empty Net Goals
Event #7 : Shot Accuracy
Three Skaters from each team
carry the puck through an obstacle of pilons in a relay fashion. One
skater from each team race against each other, then Skater #2 starts when
skater #1 finishes the course and son on. The first team to have all
three skaters finish the course wins the event.

Preston and McCrary started the competition; both players handled the puck extremely well, however the Patriots’ Preston with his great speed and skating ability gave the Americans a good size lead. By the time Spencer Hansen crossed the finish line, the Americas team had a full 4-second lead.
Winners: Americas All-Stars (1pt)
The six goaltenders from
both teams will face two shooters, which will have five pucks each. A
goaltender will face his two shooters at the same time where they will fire one
puck each until they both shoot five pucks. The shooters will be positioned
at the top of the faceoff circles, which will force the goaltender to move side
to side between each slot. The team who stops the most of the 30 shots
determines the winner.

Each team will have five
shooters who will each take a maximum of eight shots, or 20 seconds which ever
comes first. The idea is to destroy the four targets, which have been
placed in each of the four corners of the net. The player will stand
in the slot, while two teammates feed him pucks. The team who destroys
the most targets combined will determine the winner. The player who has
the least amount of shots taken while destroying the most targets (Max 4) will
be deemed the most accurate shot in the APHL.
