but why the delay?

As many of You may have already known my original release "deadline" that I had set myself was april fools day, well I didn't quite make it in time... but why? And what has been changed about the original page content?

When I first set out to make this site I wanted to make it really flashy and lots of animations and scripting and I did that, but with that came a 2 minute loading time and also the animations would studder, I couldn't find a way around this and I had two options, I could use ANOTHER script that would give me a 2 minute loading screen or I could wipe the page and start from scratch, well I think you can guess for yourself which option I took.
Another problem was the "pics" section that I was going to create, but with that came copyright infringements and my web server only allocates me roughly 5 meg to play with so I had to forget this but it was replaced with a "PICTURE REQUEST" in the forum section where you can request pitures of certain herps and if I don't have it then maybe someone else will.
I was also going to have a "contacts" section which would have vet, wires members and other important numbers which you should have, due to the low participation on the contacts side (thankyou to those who did submit contacts) I decided to get rid of this page aswell and put a "CONTACTS REQUEST" in the forum to solve that problem.
"Herp Chat" was something else I would have liked to add but I go into many herp chat rooms only to find it empty so I have given up hope in that ever becomming popular and decided that the forum could act as a delayed version of this (YES THIS FORUM IS VERY VERY HANDY INDEED).
The web site WILL be updated regularly and will have extra features put into place aswell as many more news articles such as this one. A future project I would like to work on is a herper registery where people can put in their contacts and what they have so that people that will pay good money for someting that you keep can get in contact with you, I for one person would find this very handy as you all would I am sure.
