This is a photo of me at the Texas-Mexico boarder. I moved from Texas to New Mexico during the summer of 2004. I received a degree in Deaf Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. I am in my sixth year of teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing students and am working with a wonderful group of 4th and 5th graders this year. In the evenings, I attend classes at the University of New Mexico, working on an advanced degree in Linguistics. I spent this past summer in North Dakota, taking classes on Sign Language Linguistics. In addition to linguistics, I learned Sign Writing and Mexican Sign Language.
