Police detain seven for alleged involvement in Tentena bombing
JAKARTA (Antara): The police have detained seven people -- six men and one woman
-- in connection with the deadly bombing which killed 21 people in the Central
Sulawesi town of Tentena, an officer said on Wednesday.
Deputy spokesman of the National Police Brig. Gen. Soenarko said that the seven
detainees, including a prison warden from the nearby town of Poso and three fugitive
inmates, were being intensively interrogated at the Central Sulawesi Police
Headquarters.
"They are still in an in-depth (interrogation) process and have not been declared
suspects," Soenarko said.
The prison warden, identified as Hasman, was arrested on Monday after he was found
in a car with illegal firearms and other weapons during a police operation, he said.
The three inmates were identified as Jufri, Supratman and Abdul Kadir, while the
female detainee was Tamri Firna, he said.
No details were available about the reasons behind the detention of the seven. (**)
