Jack Coombs led the AL with 28 wins and 40 starts, also topping the team with 26 complete games, 336.2 innings pitched and 185 strikeouts. |
Eddie Plank led the team with a 2.10 ERA and six shutouts, while winning 23 games. |
Plank and Chief Bender finished fourth and fifth in the league with ERA's of 2.10 and 2.16, respectively, while Bender won 17 games and Cy Morgan notched another 15. |
The Athletics led the league in team batting and runs scored, and led the AL in team earned run average. |
Baker, Collins, Plank and Bender all went on to earn Hall of Fame elections after their retirement. |
