Walter Johnson led the AL in wins (23), strikeouts (158), shutouts (6) and ERA (2.72). Tom   Zachary (15-9, 2.75 ERA) and George Mogridge (16-11, 3.76) also helped lead a Senators staff that recorded the league's lowest ERA (3.34).
Closer Firpo Marberry became the first relief specialist in ML history and led the league with 15 saves.
Hall of Fame outfielder Goose Goslin topped the AL with 129 RBIs (eight more that Babe Ruth) and batted a team-high .344. Sam Rice (.334, 106 runs, 24 SBs) and Joe Judge (.324, 38 doubles) rounded out the Senator attack.
