Still not the Vicki pic i want, but this one is better.

OK, I have A Vicki Peterson story too,it's a recent one, as I write this, it has been a little over twenty-four hours since I met the wonderful Vicki Peterson.I met her on September 23,1999 at the final show at Tramps on 21st between 5th and 6th Avenues. It was The Continental Drifters and Son Volt, but of course, I was there to see the Drifters and Vicki in particular.
I got to the show early enough to have ended up in the front, standing right near the stage. When the Drifters came out, everyone was cheering.Actually, standing in the front proved to be a real treat at the beginning, because Vicki actually came out a little early and was fixing the wires on the stage and I got to see her. But when those Drifters play, I tell you they PLAY!!!! I thought for sure I was going to go deaf, but it was great, nonetheless. The Drifters were only on for about 45 minutes, but they sang and played really well.I kept my eyes on Vicki the whole night and it evoked thoughts of the Bangles on video. After they ended their set and got ready for Son Volt, Vicki came out to get the band's stuff and pictures were snapped of her, including shots from my camera.(by the way, once I get my pics of Vicki developed and scanned and they turn out well, that pic of Vicki on top is changing!)About 1 hour after the Drifters left the stage, Vicki comes heading toward the back to meet some fans at the merchandise booth.First I smiled at her, then I went to shake her hand.then I asked her to autograph my Drifters CD,then i asked her to sign the Bangles EP on tape.I asked if we could get a photo together.(prepared this time!!!)and she said "yes." Another guy tried to get in our pic and Vicki asked me:"Do you know him?"to which I replied:"No."
Our picture was snapped and the last thing I did was buy a single, which she graciously signed also.We shook hands at least three times that evening and before I left,I thanked her for everything and told her what a pleasure it was to have met her and she said the same thing back to me.I've decided one thing:"I LOVE VICKI!!!!!"

So how did I meet Susanna Hoffs? Well,I was just graduated from high school at that point and Susanna was playing at the World Trade Center.I had seen Susanna perform once before at the Westbeth Theatre Center with Lincoln and Patti Rothberg.I did not get the chance to meet her there, though the concert was outstanding and I left very happy that night. However, when I heard that Sue was playing again, I knew that I had to go. I never thought I would meet Sue at that show. But I went prepared with two CDs in my bag,I set about to the World Trade Center on July 17,1997. Susanna started the show at 12:00 and ran till 2:00. After the show, I had no clue that Sue would be signing things at the close of the show. But when I found at she was, boy was I thrilled! I was also out of film!I took pics of Sue that day that came out too small and I wasn't terribly happy with them, but they are definitely her. When the moment
came for me to meet Sue, I had my CDs ready for her. She signed two things for me, the Susanna Hoffs sampler and the full album, which she signed:To Valentine.
However, all I said to her was,"Nice To Meet You," to which she answered so sweetly,"Thank You." But I never got to shake her hand or take a photo with her,  which I still regret, but I did meet her and she was great both times I saw her in concert.I hope that I can meet her again, but we'll see.

The story continues...more tales of meeting Bangles members
