About HOGPC Provided Email Addresses

In an effort to curb the effects of electronic junk mail we have adopted a policy of altering email addresses so that they can not as easily be used without human intervention. What this means to our visitors is that they will have to manually edit the email addresses from this web site before they will become valid for use. Hopefully, this effort will help reduce the number of junk messages that we all may receive without causing too much inconvenience for our membership and visitors.

When a user encounters a "mailto" tag (see any of the many named links on the Contacts page for examples) they will see that the supplied email address does not have an "@" (at-sign) within it. Instead they will see an address that has a 4-character "[at]" where an "@" should be. To use the supplied email address the user simply needs to substitute an "@" for the 4-character "[at]" sequence.

An example might be the email address of "user[at]domains" which needs to be manually edited to read "user@domains". Please note that in this example we have purposfully left the primary domain (.com, .edu, .org, etc.) off of the end of "domains" to reduce confusion.
