Rules, information, & how we play the wizarding world's favorite sport....QUIDDITCH!
Reminder to self: Make graphics for this page (buttons). And (eventually) link it.

Yes! It's the incredible wandering snitch! =) To quote Dumbledore:
"It was one of my more brilliant ideas, and between you and me, that's saying something."

How do we play?

1. Each team has 7 members, just as in the books.
2. We will announce the game at least a week ahead of time.
3. We will meet on the Quidditch Message Board.
4. To start the game, we will "release the quaffle".
5. Each team member will post their actions in RPG-format.
6. Your team will respond to the posts of the other team.
7. The game ends when one team's seeker catches the Golden Snitch (refer to rules, please).

Rules

1. the Headmistresses will be the referees. You DO NOT argue with the referees!
2. ONLY members of the team playing can post!
3. Your team must respond to the other teams actions within one minute for the post to count.
4. Fowls: include purposly trying to injure another team's player, and anything else the Headmistresses deem "unsportsmanship like". (yes, this is directed to you Slytherins)
5. Remember: NOT EVERYONE is "the best" Seeker/Beater/Chaser/Keeper! NO PERFECT PLAYERS!
6. The snitch cannot be caught until there have been at least 75 posts in this Quidditch game! This does NOT mean that it has to be caught right after 75 posts, and this does NOT mean that the seekers can't be active in the game until after that!!!

Scoring

1. 10 points for each goal scored.
2. 150 points to the team that catches the snitch.
3. The Headmistresses will judge each post based on creativity and skill and award up to 20 points for each post.
4. The Headmistresses will average their scores for each team. The team with the greatest number of points wins.

What to do if...

1. a team member can't make it? Let us know ahead of time, then contact your backup players (that IS why we have a reserve team, you know).
2. a team member doesn't show up? Don't panic. We will go ahead and have the game. We realize there are more important things besides Quidditch. Depending on the player's position, we *might* award your team a "handicap"..*might*. Anyway, you can still win. Remember, our point system is based mostly on creativity of the posts and skill of the players!
3. one of your team members is injured in the game? Well, obviously, they weren't REALLY injured, so you can continue playing. But it depends on the injury and how it happened (*cough* FOWL *cough*).
4. you don't make the house team?!! You're not going to die. Believe me. You could still make the reserve team. Otherwise, you can cheer on your house team! :) Remember, not everyone can play Quidditch!

Confused? Tough luck, I'm NOT making an FAQ page for Quidditch (at least, not YET). Find someone who understands and ask them. :P
