They Want Me Out Of The Way | ||||||||||||||
I'm the center of my own universe And I'm sitting on the top of my world I'm the middle of my attention And I'm the best joke I've ever heard I'm the king of my own castle And I'm the master of my own mind "They are coming," Draco muttered while pacing back and forward. A quick look at his wife, then out the window again. "I can feel them..." A low sob made him turn around again. "Didn't I tell you not to cry?" he hissed. "I'm sorry," Pansy did her best to wipe away the tears that were streaming down her cheeks. I'm the best friend that I've ever had The best friend that I'll ever find I'm the nicest person I've ever met The only person I'll never forget I'm the best sex I've ever had The one relationship that I'll never forget "Draco..." she felt how her voice was trembling. Before she had time to react she fell to the floor. The tears kept streaming down her face worse than before as she was laying there, holding up her hands in a desperate attempt of protecting herself from further abuse. "WHAT?!" "We could..." Her voice failed her. He gave her an angry look and turned to the window again. "Pathetic little..." she heard him mutter. "Draco, we could..." she was still on the floor, not daring to get up. "We could run... just run away. We'll take... we can just take Cassie and run. Before they come..." Draco snorted. "Cassandra stays here." "But... Draco..." "QUIET!" he gave her an evil glare and continued looking out the window. "She's not leaving the mansion." "We can't... we can't just leave her! She's just a baby..." "Don't worry Pansy..." "But..." "She won't be alone," he said coldly without leaving his view from the window. "But who...?" "Quiet." "Draco! We can't stay, they are coming to take you to Azkaban!" When he turned around she knew by the look in his eyes that she'd crossed the line. I can see them coming I can see them coming I can see them coming I can see them coming "There they are," he said without even turning around to look at her. Pansy wiped away the blood from her lip. "We can still make it..." she tried. "No, Pansy," he replied as cold as before. "We can't. Cassandra is staying here." "She's your daughter! We can't leave her here all alone!" "SHE WON'T BE ALONE!!" A low cry came from Pansy as she backed away from him. A baby's cry was heard clearly, and it echoed slightly in the almost empty room. "Leave her, Pansy." Too afraid to do anything else she stayed where she was. "Who..." she started carefully. "They are standing there," he said irritated, ignoring her. "They are waiting for some kind of a sign that we are still here..." He smirked devilishly. We want to lock you up, they want to lock me up We want to put you away, they want to put me away We want to shut you up, they want to shut me up We want you out of the way, they want me out of the way The cries of the seven-month-old baby echoed in the room. "You leave her alone, Pansy." The tone in his voice made her back away from the child again. "Are they going to stand there all day?!" he hissed and turned around to look at his wife and daughter. "Pansy, Pansy, Pansy..." He shook his head. "Don't you know?" She blinked repeatedly, fighting the tears. "What?" she practically whispered. I'm the greatest star in my hall of fame I'm the host of my own show I'm the main character in my book I'm the most humble man I know I'm the leader of my own army I'm the fürer of my chosen ones I'm the atom bomb that'll blow my mind All the way to my kingdome come He put the wand on the only table in the room and smiled at her. "Pansy, dear?" She looked up carefully. "Yes...?" Her voice was trembling worse than before. She'd seen him mad before, but this... this was beyond that. They were practically trapped in the Malfoy mansion, with two dozens of people and dementors outside, ready to take the Death Eater to Azkaban. The Death Eater was her husband. Trapped like this had brought his fury to another level and she honestly feared for her life. "Do you know who is going to stay with Cassie?" he said softly with a smile. I'm the god of my own bible I'm the Jesus of my own cross I'm the savior of my own people And I'm my own greatest loss "What?" she stared at him. "I'm gonna stay behind?" "Oh, don't worry dear," he said coldly, just barely hearable over the baby's cries. "They won't hurt you." A small smirk replaced the smile. "They won't be able to, cause you won't be alive then, sweetheart." I can see them coming I can see them coming I can see them coming I can see them coming She stared at him. "You... you can't be serious..." He snorted. "I've killed people that meant more to me than you. It will be easy." He glared out the window. "After all, I can't leave anyone that can tell them where I'm going..." "I won't... I swear I won't tell them!" He gave her a warning look. "You know you would do that just as I do. Fuck, you know I'd turn you in if the roles were switched." We want to lock you up, they want to lock me up We want to put you away, they want to put me away We want to shut you up, they want to shut me up We want you out of the way, they want me out of the way "Please, baby..." she cried. "Draco, take me with you instead. You don't have to do this." He raised his wand and looked at her calmly. "Avada Ke... No." He put the wand down again. "Draco!" Pansy got up and threw herself around his neck. "Thank you... I swear, I'll never tell a soul, ever, I swear, I..." A rather repulsive clicking noise was heard as her neck snapped. He smiled as the lifeless body fell to the floor. "A little bit too quick to thank me there..." he picked up the wand again. "... Dear." he added and turned around to the crib and the little blond baby who had stopped crying just a minute ago. I think I'm going crazy I think I'm going crazy I think I'm going crazy I think I'm going crazy I'm losing my mind A quick look out the window again. They'd moved a bit closer, not much though. Draco turned around and looked at the grey-eyed girl looking up at him quietly. He tapped his wand on the crib without uttering a word. "So... leaving no survivors, or letting you live." He felt his heart pounding painfully fast. He wasn't sure this time. The little baby in front of him was surely his, and he did love her. He couldn't take her with him... or could he? He tapped the crib again thoughtfully. Cassandra laughed and reached out after the wand. We want to lock you up, they want to lock me up We want to put you away, they want to put me away We want to shut you up, they want to shut me up We want you out of the way, they want me out of the way "I'm sorry Cassie," he whispered and stroke her blond hair out of her face. "There's no other way..." Draco looked at his daugther lying so still. He shivered and got up on his broom again. It hurt him to leave her like this. At first he hadn't known where to leave her. Then he'd remembered someone that certainly would take care of a baby that turned up on the doorstep. Draco felt slightly bitter about leaving the only person he honestly could say he cared about to a person he hated, but he knew there wasn't any other option. "Potter will take care of you," he whispered. "I love you, Cassie..." He sighed and took of again, knowing he'd never see her again. |
