| On July 15 2003 High Priest Nikken Shonin conducted a memorial service for the peace and enlightenment of victims of the terrorist attacks on 9/11 2001 in New York City. The ceremony took place at Ground Zero. Mystically due to some unexpected circumstances the ceremony took place exactly at the same time as Ushitora Gongyo was being performed at Taisekiji. The date also corresponds to the submission of Rissho Ankoku Ron by Nichiren Daishonin. |
