Holipsism's Haven
To vote or not to vote;
is that the question?
By Mark S. Gonney
For me, it's not should I vote, but what exactly am I voting for? I have become disillusioned with the old Republican/Democrat, one, two, shuffle. African people should not vote or participate in the political process without an independent party that is controlled financially by Africans and for Africans across the diaspora. The reason why this concept hasn't been brought to the table collectively by black leadership is because they are pimping the masses of our people and withholding political education from the people for manipulative purposes. Until our so-called "leadership" forms a Black independent party that works solely for my communities interests, don't even look for my vote. It's ridiculous to ask a citizen to vote without systematic political education being put into place. Asking a citizen to vote without it is the equivalent of asking a person to do open heart surgery without any medical training; you've got a butcher on your hands. Without political education of the people and a clear cut, across the board, ideology or code of ethics by "black leadership," the philosophy seems to be, "Vote for me, I'm Black."
Politics or poli-tricks, by definition, is the science of self-interests. So please tell me, how can our so-called leadership put us on the back burner while they furiously work in the interests of every group of people but their own? Let's look at this logically; if a husband told his wife to be patient with him, wait, put her desires on the back burner, and support him while he takes care of all his other girlfriends problems first, how long do you think that relationship will last? So, why do we allow our leadership to constantly put other groups interests before ours? Another point that must be made is that power in politics lies in the strength of your lobby, not in the title of position of office, because the person with the title and the position has to dance to the tune of his constituency. Groups like the NRA, JDL, ADL, Environmentalists, Homosexuals, and various others have made people dance just by the power of their lobby. As the old cliche goes, "whoever pays the piper calls the tune." If you don't pay your leadership, how do you have any say in what they do? If you do not have the means to punish them when they do not work in your interests, then all you are doing when you vote for them is setting them up with a nice, fat, pension plan with benefits.
Since the 1960's so-called "black leadership" has been involved in the "struggle" for our people, right? If you call yourself a leader you should understand the concept of time management? In over thirty years of so-called "struggle" there has yet to be a blueprint or plan put in place to develop a functional economic infrastructure in the African-American community. What is the time management on that? A 40 year plan? Is this all a part of some 30 year grand scheme to fake the white man out and then the "real" plan will come out? When the Jewish people said, "Never again," they were right. We have to realize that we were not included in that equation, so it is very possible that the phrase for us could be, "Once again." Apparently "black leadership," both political and religious, have internalized the negativity and hatred of African people across the diaspora so much that they are more than willing to take us down the same road that led to the Jewish holocaust.
The popular opinion is that voting will make your voice heard. Well, I happen to see it both ways; not voting will make your voice heard even louder. It's very simple, instead of being extorted by "black leadership," let them know that if they do not start an independent black political party, financed and controlled by Black people, that you will not to vote at all. If there are no prostitutes there can be no pimps. Some people may argue that, "if you don't vote for the black man, then we'll have to deal with the white man." First of all, you are not voting for the black man anyway. If you don't pay him he is not yours. He is the property of his financier. By not voting for these pimps you basically castrate them before their masters. They can no longer claim to be liasons and middlemen supposedly representing your interests. With your own political party you can place in position an individual that is trained and prepared to work in your interests.
In this society, there is no such thing as being apolitical. Even when you choose not to participate in a political system, you are making a political choice. In light of that, lets put the pressure on these pimps to work either for us or be jettisoned from our midst forever.
