Jaylene’s Griffin, Ear # GFN, Owned, bred and exhibited by Jaylene Holevinski. align="left">
My sweet Griffy....He has the most wonderful personality of any animal I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is a pet to me, and a buddy.
He is probably one of the first, really nice rabbits I was ever blessed with, in a breeding, and as it turns out, the whole litter was nice. His Sire was Jaylene’s Waylan and his Dam was WW’s Gail, whom I purchased from Melinda and Hanna Wingate from Massachusetts. His sister, Gabriella, has 13 legs and his brother, Grant, only 2, but was always doing 2nd to his brother. As a junior, Griffin won BIS at a large show in Rhinebeck, New York, of over 1200. His sister also won a Best 4 class, as a junior, in Baltimore County Maryland. To his show career credit he has: 30 legs[under 24 judges], 3 BIS, 3 Best 4 Classes, with 13 - Best of Breeds, 3 BOS’s, 5 BOSV's and 6 BOV’s, as well.
His best features are his lower hindquarter, his head and crown and his striking coat.
He has a few offspring, most of which are does and are working as broods now, but he also sired one little broken buck, Conan, that has 2 junior legs and seems to be promising.
After much thought, we decided not to take Griffin to the Kentucky convention with us, for fear of something happening to him. I don’t regret that decision at all, but he missed us terribly, while we were away.
Our sweet boy won another Best In Show at the National Capital show on 5/13/2000. He also won Best In Show on 5/20/2000 at the Lebanon Valley RBA show. He took home a lovely plaque with a clock in it.
The latest proud moment with my Griffin, was at the 77th Annual ARBA convention in Columbus, Ohio. He placed 3rd in a very large class there, and his brother, Grant, placed 8th. Our boys made us proud, again.
