Here some US pictures there i have been with some of my friends 2000. It was a great travelling and much to see. So take a look and who knows you will go there too.

The US

Here is a picture from Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. It is a park worth seeing and it got itīs name from one of several rocks, shaped like horseshoes, at the eastside of Paunsaugunt-Plateau in South Utah. Erosion has created several thousands pillars and labyrinths with fantastic colours and shapes. I can really recomend this park, it is a joy to see. Here is an address that you can get more information from: Bryce Canyon National Park. P.O box 170001. Bryce Canyon, Utah 84717-0001 U.S.A. Spider RockThis rock that you see in this picture is around 250 meters high and is called Spider Rock, and is located in Canyon de Chelly National Monument in northeastern Arizona. There are a lot of parks in North America that are very interesting. It helps to know someone that lives there and has travelled extensively in order to advise you. If you do not have that luxury then a good thing to do is to buy a guidebook, or search for the things that interest you on the Internet. You need to have a game plan before you go. I prefer to use search engines like AltaVista or Yahoo. I hope I've given you a flavour of some of the things you can see there and I've only scratched the surface.

Boat Mesa from Sunset Point in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Here you can see a nice picture of Monument Valley, which is in northern Arizona beside the Utah border. I took this photograph in September of 2000 and it shows a classical view, which is often featured, in Western movies.  You can get more information about Monument Valley by clicking on the website below:

Rio Grande

We visited Valhalla Provincial Park, BC, Canada.  It was very beautiful in this park and we enjoyed hiking in it. I was there in 1998 and we overnighted at Drinnon Lake in the park. The last picture in this series is of the Rio Grande taken in Big Bend National Park in Texas near the west entrance to the park. Near Boquillas Canyon there was a hot spring right beside the river. It was nice to bath in the hot spring and then for a change in temperature take a refreshing dip in the river. In Big Bend Park we spent a couple of days hiking and that was in September of 2000.  I was with my companions in this park. We saw a bear cub and a tarantula on one walk.  On other hikes we saw more wildlife such as javelina and roadrunners.  It was a good park for those interested in wildlife. It was one of the most enjoyable trips I have done in my life. I want to thank my good friend Grant who lives in Kamloops, BC in Canada who came up with the travel plans. He is familiar with North American destinations so it made for an eventful itinerary. If you are travelling somewhere it is helpful if you can find someone to travel with that is good at planning and knows what would be worthwhile to go and see. There was a lot of interesting things we saw and we were able to see about twelve parks. At the end of this trip we wrapped things up with a bit of city life in Las Vegas for a couple of days. It is worth seeing at least once. We stayed in the Luxor Hotel.  It is shaped like a pyramid and is right on the strip at the west end. The room rate for that time of season was $85, which was not bad for the quality of room.
