you can have my library card when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

As you may have guessed, I'm something of a bookworm. I love, love, love (love) the written word in just about every form it occurs in.

"Hey, what's your favorite book?" is quite possibly the most dangerous question you can ask me. See, I can't choose one. Hmm, lessee...

  • I love Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere for its absolutely beautiful language and dark, creepy, otherworldly tone,
  • the Harry Potter books for making kids like reading again (and still being good books!),
  • Roald Dahl's Matilda because I pretty much wanted to be her when I was little,
  • Lauries Halse Andersen's Speak because it's damn hard to write good YA and still be readable,
...and that's just for starters. I'm not even mentioning Good Omens, Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, The Phantom Tollbooth, Madeline L'Engle, Tamora Pierce, Douglas Adams, David Sedaris.... okay, maybe I'm mentioning them after all.

You can check out my Amazon wish list to see which books I'm currently coveting. Feel free to buy me stuff. Also, hit some of the other links for fanfic, blogs and weekly columns on the Internet (Tomato Nation is a hoot, especially), and who knows what else.

Also, be sure to check out my writing at Poetry.com-- most of the same stuff can be found at my writing page, but they're publishing one of my sonnets in their next anthology and I feel like showing off.
