Miracles and Memories

"Your eyes are like those people who can't help wanting to make memories last forever. "

Insights into this theory from other episodes.
Episode 23: Qualifications of a Duelist:  If you don't remember the dailouge I refer to, click the link to get the script.  When Utena and Mikage have an arguement in the corridor of Nemuro Hall, Mikage brings up several points about memory that make me think of Juri.  It seems Utena can do what Mikage did, she can make her beautiful memory last. People fight to protect these memories, because, as the qoute above says, they want them last.
This is something that fits every character, although here it is used in reference to Utena and the Black Rose Duelists. Juri's precious memory she struggles to save is the memory of the Shiori she loved before the betrayal.
Yes, Utena may be able to make her sustaining memory of the Prince last forever because she completely believes in it. She is still completely in her coffin.
Juri, and the other duelists, cannot make theirs last forever because they do not fully believe in their memories.  They are trapped somewhere between believing their memories could last (in their coffins) and realizing they cannot (the outside, or "real", world).  This creates their conflicts and pain, this constant tension between memory and reality.
Mikage, too, is completely within his coffin, and for a while did grasp eternity.  Only when he doubts his memories does the real world catch up with him and he is forced to graduate.

Episode 37: The One Who Will Revolutionize the World:  Juri still seems to be attached to Shiori even though the necklace is gone.  But she is no longer bound to that specific memory.  The hurt, the hate, and the love probably still reside there.  But she is no longer hindered and handicapped by it.

Episode 39: Someday, Shine with Me:  Thanks to the internal revolution that takes place after Anthy is freed, the Juri and Shiori saga comes to a resolution of sorts.  We're not sure in the end what their relationship is, but Shiori is on the fencing team. For that to happen, I would imagine they at least have a relationship that is not so painful, hurtful, and full of expectations neither of them can forfill.
