This time around, resident DJ Filthy Luka (Horse Meat Disco) will warm up for the return of London Fashion’s brightest star, designer Kim Jones. The menswear maestro has developed a cult following with his self-titled own label and work with Umbro and Mulberry, as well as creative projects with publications such as Dazed and Confused, Another and The New York Times. The music policy at Circus is unlike no other Friday night in town: expect a mix of electro, indie and New-Wave to Nu-Rave. Don't be surprised to hear Run DMC mixed into Ray of Light, and Bloc Party vs. Black Eyed Peas mash-ups, with a fair chunk of classic disco mixed in.
Falling at the same time as the wind-down to London Fashion Week, this month’s party is sure to attract a stylish crowed, from drag divas in diamonds and fashion students in fedoras to champagne swigging socialites. Plus, of course, expect a generous sprinkling of gorgeous guys and recognisable faces to take to the dance floor. ‘After the success of last month’s night, with an unannounced live show fromNew York transsexual Amanda Lepore, you can safely say that Circus is one of London’s most exciting club nights’, says Jodie. It’s diverse, trendy, and a whole lot of fun. I have so many tricks up my bejewelled sleeves for future parties.’
Of course, it wouldn't be the greatest show on Earth without sideshows. But this Circus isn’t for kids! Empress Stah, the UK’s most in-demand burlesque performer and former star of Cirque du Soliel, will take to the roof for a dramatic aerial show. To add some smut to the scenery, girls in nipple tassels and go-go dancing clowns with greased-up pecs will whip the poles into a greased-up frenzy for your debauched pleasure. It’s set to be yet another spectacular Circus.
